Presti is the first professional all-female guitar trio in the United States, and is comprised of Olga Amelkina-Vera, Valerie Hartzell, and Lynn McGrath. The ensemble’s name pays homage to the legendary Ida Presti, considered by many to be one of the greatest guitarists of the 20th Century. In 2010, after crossing paths at several festivals in the United States, Presti’s members, each with their own successful performing careers, decided to join forces. Since then, Presti has performed in Houston and Katy Texas (Classical Minds Guitar Festival and Greater Houston Guitar Guild) and in Santa Fe and Albuquerque (NM). The group’s early momentum has resulted in a busy 2011-12 season with several concerts in Florida (Tampa and Orlando) and New York. Presti will be featured at the Annual Classical Guitar Fall Festival, sponsored by the Classical Guitar Society of Upstate New York and has performances in 2012 scheduled in Dallas and Pennsylvania. Presti has also been featured on Houston’s "The Front Row" on KUHA 91.7FM. Presti’s members are recording artists and have advanced degrees from Peabody Conservatory, University of North Texas, and the University of Southern California. Collectively they have performed on three continents, throughout Europe and the Americas. Each member offers a unique cultural and artistic perspective to the group.
